FURNITURE FLIPPING 101: The Painting Masterclass 🎨🛠️ If you want a factory-smooth finish that actually lasts, you have to stop treating your furniture like a bedroom wall. Most people fail at the finish line because they rush the prep, but today we’re breaking down how to paint like a pro. THE "PAINT LIKE A PRO" CHEAT SHEET: • ⚪ White vs. 🔘 Grey Primer: Use White for light colors (creams, whites) and Grey for dark colors (navy, black, charcoal). It cuts your painting time in half. • 🪵 Stop the Bleed: If you’re working with raw wood or cherry/mahogany, use a Shellac-based primer. It’s the only way to block tannins from staining your fresh paint. • 🔍 The "Defect Finder": That first coat of primer shows every scratch you missed. Use spot putty right on top of the primer, sand it flush, and you’ll have a flawless surface. • ☁️ The Silk Finish: Never paint over "raw" primer. Scuff sand it with a 320-grit sponge first to knock down the grain. • 🛒 Choose the Right Fuel: Skip the wall paint. Look for "Cabinet and Furniture Enamel"—it’s formulated to level out brush marks and dry rock-hard. Painting is the most satisfying part of the flip, but it’s only as good as the prep underneath it! 💅🏗️ HELP ME SETTLE THIS: 👇 Are you Team Paint Sprayer for that factory finish, or Team Brush for that classic handmade look? Drop a '🔫' or a '🖌️' in the comments! STAY TUNED: In Part 5, we’re tackling Topcoats and Protection to make sure your hard work lasts forever! 🛡️✨ #FurnitureFlipping101 #DIYTips #FurnitureFlip #ModernDesign #Maker
