🚨MINDSET SHIFT🚨 As therapist, educators, and caregivers, we need to think less about what can be easily adapted. Let’s start asking ourselves the question “how can we adapt what SAME AGE peers are interested in?” These kids are not babies! Presuming competence includes the understanding that our kindergarten aged kids don’t want to play with the same Fischer Price toy for years. (Except for bubble machines. Most adults I know are still mesmerized by bubbles.) Luckily, my husband had made it his mission to find some “sick” toys to play with like this foam dart blaster. We tested many options to find the best one. And when I say testing, I mean that I have been used as target practice while my husband lives out his 10-year-old self’s dreams.
