3D printing gets a lot of attention in the assistive technology world, but sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. These thermoplastic moldable beads are one of my favorite low-cost tools for creating custom adaptations. Just add hot water, mold them by hand, and let them cool. No CAD software, no printer, and no waiting hours for a print to finish. I love 3D printing, but not everyone has access to a printer or wants to learn design software. Thermoplastic beads make it possible to quickly create custom handles, switch mounts, positioning supports, and other adaptations with materials that are inexpensive and easy to use. Have you used thermoplastic beads before? I’d love to hear what you’ve made with them! #AssistiveTechnology #OccupationalTherapy #AdaptiveEquipment #ATforAll
