Can you run with Achilles tendinopathy? The answer is: it depends. If running is consistently aggravating your Achilles pain, the first step may be to reduce the load and activity going through the tendon. This might mean temporarily reducing or modifying your running, or switching to lower-impact activities while the tendon settles. Once symptoms are under control, the aim is to gradually reload the tendon and build your running back up. It’s not always about stopping completely, it’s about finding the right level of activity for your tendon at that stage of your recovery.
