These are some of the things I wish I’d known about alcohol sooner. Not to scare anyone, but because many of us grow up believing alcohol is harmless, normal, and even necessary for relaxing, socialising, or having fun. For years, I believed alcohol was helping me. Helping me switch off. Helping me cope with stress. Helping me enjoy myself. But the reality is that alcohol is one of the few substances that’s both toxic and addictive, yet it’s so normalised that most people never stop to question it. And when you do start questioning it, people often act like you’re the problem. The truth is, alcohol was often creating the very problems I thought it was solving. The anxiety. The poor sleep. The low energy. The lack of motivation. Choosing to look at the facts... Choosing your health, your peace of mind, your energy, and your future... That’s not boring. That’s taking control of your life. If you’re starting to question your relationship with alcohol, follow
