Windows kept a copy of every update it ever replaced. It is still on your drive. 📦 Admin terminal. Ask it how bad:DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore Read Actual Size of Component Store, then read the last line of the report. It says whether cleanup is recommended. Windows works this out, writes it down, and then does nothing and never mentions it. Clean it up:DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup It only removes superseded components: versions already replaced by something newer. Nothing you use gets touched. Before you run it: ・"Cleanup Recommended : No" is a real answer. It means your machine is already tidy, not that the command failed ・It can take 20 minutes or more and may look frozen at a percentage. It is not ・How much you get back varies wildly. A newer machine may give back almost nothing; an old upgraded one can give back several GB Do NOT add /ResetBase, whatever a forum tells you. It permanently kills your ability to uninstall Windows updates. You would be trading a couple of gigabytes for the right to undo the next update that breaks your PC. Bad trade. Took me nine months to collect this stuff. Takes you an afternoon to own it 👻 link in bio. Fan-made parody. NOT affiliated with Adult Swim or Warner Bros.
