LAPD Shoots Dog In Canoga Park. LAPD was called to a building in Canoga Park because a neighbor claimed they heard a woman screaming. The woman was screaming in excitement over the Knicks game not because she was being murdered. When the cops knocked on the door to investigate they claim a 2yr old golden retriever mix called Jameson lunged at them. Officers fired at the young dog and killed it. The woman was extremely distressed and lay crying with her dog outside her apartment as neighbors and more than 15 police officers stoodby. The Los Angeles Police Department consistently leads the nation in police shootings and the use of deadly force a trend that is persistent despite 2020 legislation designed to mandate stricter accountability, and while the cities overall homicide rate has reached his lowest level since 1966 and 2025.
