Growing up I hated anything that would label me as a girl. I hated the box it put me in. I liked sports, woodwork, boys clothes and all these things that “weren’t girly”. And in the same way I hated pink and dresses and anything that would label me as “just a girl”. But things have changed and I finally feel like I can like pink, I can like dresses and makeup and enjoy being girly and that it doesn’t feel like it puts me in a box, it feels like I get to enjoy that side of me too. Being an auntie to my nieces makes me feel like I get to see girls growing up in a world that isn’t as restricting for them and I really love that.
