@Learning Without Limits Part 3… and this time it’s my student’s dyslexia story. ❤️ She has a new orchestra teacher, and one thing has been really stressing her out. She’s being handed sheet music and expected to play it without having time to preview it first. So instead of stopping at “I don’t like this teacher” or “I can’t do this,” we talked about WHY it felt so difficult. What would help? How much preview time would actually make a difference? And most importantly… how can SHE communicate that to her teacher? Supporting kids with dyslexia isn’t only about teaching them to read and spell. It’s also helping them understand how their brain works, recognize what they need, problem solve, and learn how to advocate for themselves. She won’t always have an adult there to do it for her. The goal is for her to eventually be able to say, “This is what I need to be successful.” ❤️
