So this summer I planted my first garden. And it taught me three things I needed to hear. The thing nobody prepares you for is how being a Black woman in tech means the bar is already set to exceptional before you even open your laptop. 🌸 Seeds don't care about your timeline. You can't will them to grow faster by checking every day. You just do the work and trust the process…which is frustating when you have a vision but it feels like you’re not matching up to it 🌺 Wilting isn't failure. When it gets too hot or you forget to water for a few days, the plant looks dead. But it usually isn't. You don't pull the whole thing and start from scratch. Your github green squares do not dictate your ability as an engineer. Adjust and keep going. 🪻The only way to actually kill it is to walk away completely. Different conditions, different constraints.
