I’m 6.5 weeks postpartum, and this has truly been one of my biggest mental challenges. Learning to accept that my body has changed — but changed for the most beautiful reason. I’m so grateful that my body was able to create and carry a human life. I grew an entire little soul inside of me, someone I love unconditionally, and I would do it all again even knowing my body would change once more. What’s crazy is that when I step on the scale, the numbers are pretty much back to my pre-pregnancy weight… but my body doesn’t look the same. And that’s something I’m learning to accept. For anyone else feeling this — the numbers on the scale you see or the reflection staring back at you in the mirror isn’t permanent. There is always room to grow, change, and become stronger again, but it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, effort, and hard work — and that’s okay. And something I’m really reminding myself of is this: not every body is the same. You can’t compare your journey to someone else’s. You should never put yourself down for not looking like another person — especially in postpartum. All we can do is encourage ourselves and each other. Remind ourselves that we’re doing amazing, that we look beautiful, and that we can keep going. Everyone can reach their goals in their own time, in their own way. Before pregnancy, I worked so hard to reach my fitness goals, and I’m incredibly proud of the dedication and discipline it took to get there. That version of me inspires me now. She reminds me that I can get there again — with time, with nourishment, and when my body is ready for me to step back into the gym. And I know I’m not alone. Every woman goes through this postpartum transition in her own way, and it’s okay to struggle with it. What’s important is staying positive and remembering that we can get back to feeling like ourselves again — physically, mentally, and emotionally — with patience and a little hard work. We deserve to feel strong, confident, and connected to the things we love again. For now, it’s baby steps. Taking each day as it comes. Building routines slowly. Giving myself grace. My journey isn’t over — it’s simply beginning again, in a new and stronger version of me. 💛 #firsttimemom #postpartumbody #postpartumrecovery #postpartumjourney #postpartumcare
