Volunteer Call Post Join a nationwide team to help track the scale of grassroots action for No Kings Day on Saturday, October 18! We’re crowdsourcing public attendance numbers from news outlets, civic groups, academics, and social media. So we need your help to compile sources from every corner of the country. We’re organizing remote volunteers into 2-hour shifts throughout the day and night, covering over 2,500 protest locations in all states the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands and more. Pick one or more shifts (56 total!), choose between Google, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, or Reddit platforms to monitor, and help assemble the most up-to-date public attendance spreadsheet. Why volunteer? • The last No Kings Day count dramatically expanded public record-keeping with spreadsheet sources not even the Crowd Counting Consoritum (CCC) had. Volunteers helped ensure better corrections and broader coverage. • Every shift filled means more accurate, timely counts and links sent to the main research dataset (CCC). How it works: • Sign up for a shift or two (or more!) and you’ll get a simple Google Sheet link and instructions. • Check posts and news for crowd info; if found, add counts and links to the sheet. • If not found, comment on posts asking for numbers; every reply can help. Key notes: • Shifts fill from 9am Eastern, running past midnight Eastern (to match Hawaii end times). • If your platform/shift fills, we will double up for coverage! • The Highest end times of events are expected in shifts 3, 4, 2, and 5 but every slot matters as tons of events have unknown end times.
