Lightning and thunder was reported in northern Ohio as a band of snow squalls moved through the area on Friday evening, February 6. Footage from a doorbell camera in the Youngstown suburb of Poland captured two instances of so-called “thundersnow” shortly before 9 pm. An intense snow squall struck the Youngstown area at that time, according to local news reports. The National Weather Service said “bitterly cold wind chills” would continue through the weekend but temperatures would increase early next week.
